Despite immediate medical attention, five of these victims succumbed to their injuries, while search operations continue for the remaining 12 people who are still unaccounted for.

Adjacent to this, Hubei Province faced a severe weather event on the night of 6 July, where the combined effects of tornadoes and thunderstorms resulted in the deaths of 11 people. Authorities have confirmed that one individual remains missing, while at least 331 residents sustained injuries in three major communities affected by the adverse weather. As part of the emergency response, over 400 residents have been relocated to safer areas.

The damage reports indicate that 22 buildings have been completely destroyed and nearly 4,855 others have sustained significant damage. Local emergency management is actively engaged in repair and recovery efforts to restore stability in those communities impacted by the storms.

Widespread Impact from Flooding

In a separate development in Nanning, located in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, four additional fatalities were reported alongside eight missing individuals due to unprecedented rainfall and subsequent flooding. The deluge, which has been linked to Typhoon Maysak, has reportedly affected over 93,300 people, prompting the evacuation of 54,460 individuals from danger zones.

Authorities are currently focused on managing the immediate effects of the flooding while ensuring that safety protocols are in place for all residents. The government has been urged to intensify disaster prevention strategies and relief measures to safeguard the lives and property of citizens affected by these escalating weather events.

As rescue and relief operations progress in the most severely hit areas, President Xi has reiterated the importance of preparedness and a coordinated response to avoid future tragedies.
