Bihar Government could not give account of Rs 80,000 crores: Tejashwi Yadav’s jibe at CM Nitish

The CSR Journal Magazine

Amid increasing heat in Bihar politics ahead of the assembly elections scheduled later this year, an important meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) was held at the Patna residence of Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Yadav said on Wednesday that several important discussions have taken place in the Coordination Committee meeting. Tejashwi claimed that the CAG report has revealed that the government has not given the account of Rs 71,000 crore.

The RJD leader alleged that the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has not been able to give an account of a total of Rs 80,000 crores till now. Taking a jibe at the “Double Engine Government” in Bihar, Tejashwi stated that while one engine is engaged in crime, the other in is busy with corruption.

Questioning the government’s silence, he said that it is now being run by criminals, as a result of which 100 people were killed in 10 days!

“This is not a double engine government, but a double scam government”, Tejashwi Yadav said accusing the Bihar government of embezzling Rs 80,000 crores. “One engine is involved in corruption and the other engine in crime,” he added.

He described unemployment, education system, crime and migration as the four serious crises of the state and said that the Nitish Kumar government has completely failed to address the above.

Mahagathbandhan to host rally after Rakshabandhan with Rahul Gandhi

After the meeting, Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference and launched a scathing attack on the state government where he presented the outline of a big political movement in the coming days.

Tejashwi announced that after Rakshabandhan, the Mahagathbandhan will launch a comprehensive public campaign across the state. Under this, he himself will address rallies in nine divisions of Bihar, in which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also expected to join. The dates and routes of the rallies will be disclosed later, he said.

The opposition leader said that 2500 women representatives will be specially added in Mahagathbandhan’s upcoming rallies, so that this movement can become more empowered with public participation and social representation.

Big challenge for Nitish Kumar government?

During the press conference, Tejashwi Yadav said that the date and venues of the rally will be announced soon. Describing August as the month of revolution, he said that now the time has come to go among the people and expose the failures of the government.

According to political analysts, the Mahagathbandhan campaign starting after Rakshabandhan is a very smart strategy ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2026. Congress and RJD coming out on the streets together can become a big challenge for the Nitish government, they opine.
