Batwara 1947, following a successful debut around the Independence Day holiday, has experienced a downturn in its box office performance during the weekdays. The film, starring Sunny Deol and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, has reportedly earned a total of Rs 45.42 crore globally within its initial six days of release. According to the industry monitoring platform Sacnilk, on the sixth day, the film generated Rs 1.40 crore nett in India, marking a significant decline of 37.8 per cent compared to its earnings of Rs 2.25 crore on the previous day.

Detailed Box Office Earnings

The film’s total nett earnings in India now stand at Rs 32.15 crore, while the gross earnings have reached Rs 38.17 crore. In addition to its domestic performance, Batwara 1947 also garnered Rs 0.50 crore from international markets on Day 6. This brings the overseas gross to Rs 7.25 crore, collected from 6,475 screenings across various cinemas. The initial weekend benefitted from the Independence Day holiday, which significantly contributed to the overall box office performance.

Examining the day-wise collection, Batwara 1947 has realised the following receipts: Day 1: Rs 5.75 crore, Day 2: Rs 13.50 crore, Day 3: Rs 7.25 crore, Day 4: Rs 2 crore, Day 5: Rs 2.25 crore, and Day 6: Rs 1.40 crore, culminating in a total of Rs 32.15 crore for the Indian market.

Additionally, the film faces competition from Awarapan 2, featuring Emraan Hashmi, which also premiered on August 14. Both films have been vying for audience attention, particularly during the Independence Day weekend and subsequent weekdays. The continuation of Batwara 1947’s performance through the second half of its first week will be crucial for its longevity within theatres.
