The CSR Journal Magazine

In its second week, the film reportedly garnered ₹35.90 crore, contributing to a total that now stands at ₹188.45 crore for its Hindi version. A trade analyst noted that the film maintained its strong momentum, achieving double-digit earnings on both Saturday and Sunday.

The breakdown of the earnings for the weekend includes ₹9.50 crore on Friday, followed by ₹13.30 crore on Saturday and ₹13.10 crore on Sunday. This consistent performance indicates robust audience engagement and interest. Due to its sustained success, ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ has positioned itself as a contender to join the exclusive ₹200 crore club.

He highlighted the film’s ability to thrive despite the release of another film, ‘Haiwaan’. He emphasised that audience interest in ‘Mirzapur’ has not waned, showcasing its strong staying power in the competitive box office landscape.

Competition From New Releases

Despite the release of ‘Haiwaan’, ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ has retained a significant portion of its audience. He remarked that the new competition has not detracted from the film’s success, reinforcing its appeal among moviegoers. Additionally, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has also attracted a considerable audience, further demonstrating that multiple films can succeed simultaneously, regardless of their genres.

This dual success between ‘Hanuman Ansh’ and ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ illustrates the diverse tastes of the audience, accommodating a wide array of cinematic offerings. Adarsh’s commentary on social media suggests that strong content can indeed coexist and flourish at the box office.

With this emerging trend, both films continue to draw significant crowds, affirming that varied storytelling can successfully capture public interest across different demographic segments.

Box Office Rankings and Future Prospects

This year has seen only three films surpass the ₹200 crore mark in India, namely ‘Dhurandhar 2’, ‘Border 2’, and ‘Hanuman Ansh’. ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ is now set to potentially become the fourth film to achieve this milestone. Adarsh’s analysis reflects the competitive nature of the current box office, where quality and storytelling are key to unlocking financial success.

The report indicates that only three films have crossed the ₹200 crore net box-office collections benchmark this year, underscoring the rarity of such achievements. With ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ on the cusp of this landmark, the film’s producers and associated studios are poised for extensive accolades should they reach this goal.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ rekindles the excitement surrounding beloved characters such as Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Munna Bhaiya (Divyenndu), and Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal). The ongoing narrative focuses on the struggle for the Mirzapur throne, offering fans an appealing continuation of the franchise.
