The CSR Journal Magazine

A recent holiday to Uttarakhand has culminated in a tragic event involving a 27-year-old software engineer from Gurugram, P Radha Gayatri. She was found deceased in a homestay room on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road. Authorities are now awaiting forensic and autopsy reports to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.

Gayatri was discovered unresponsive inside her accommodation on Monday morning. Emergency responders declared her dead at the scene. Given the nature of the incident, police have initiated an investigation, which has revealed bloodstains within the room. A videographed post-mortem examination has been commissioned to ensure comprehensive documentation of the findings.

Details of the Trip

According to police reports, Gayatri and her husband, Soumya Sricharan, left Delhi for Uttarakhand on June 13. The newlyweds initially spent time in Rishikesh before checking into a homestay in the Tipridhar area on the night of June 14. They registered at a room called “Bliss” around 11.30 pm, having married on November 8, 2025, and both originating from Visakhapatnam.

Sricharan recounted that the couple consumed alcohol on the night of the incident before going to sleep at approximately 3.30 am. He reported waking up later to find Gayatri unconscious on the floor, with blood apparent around her mouth and nose. Alarmed, he promptly informed the homestay management, which led to the arrival of emergency services.

When medical personnel arrived, they confirmed Gayatri’s death, prompting an in-depth examination of the room by investigators. Police discovered several pieces of evidence, including bloodstains on a bedsheet, two empty liquor bottles, and leftover food, which are being meticulously analysed as part of the inquiry.

Ongoing Investigation and Family Notification

Authorities have communicated that it remains premature to assume the cause of death. The body has been transferred to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun, where a detailed post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday. In consideration of the sensitive nature of the case, the autopsy will be conducted by a panel of doctors, and the procedure will be recorded for thorough documentation.

Part of the investigation involves questioning Sricharan and members of the homestay staff to gather further insights. Meanwhile, Gayatri’s family has been informed of her untimely passing and is expected to arrive in Uttarakhand from Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. So far, no formal complaint has been lodged by the family, and police assert that further evidence from the autopsy and forensic reports will be critical in establishing the details of what occurred during the final hours of the young engineer’s life.

As the investigation unfolds, the circumstances surrounding Gayatri’s death continue to raise significant concerns within both families and the wider community, leaving many unanswered questions regarding the events in Room “Bliss” on the night of June 14.
