Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with newly appointed government employees and posed for selfies with young attendees after an appointment letter distribution programme in the state.

1 Lakh Jobs in Six Months

Addressing the gathering, Adityanath said the Uttar Pradesh government aims to provide 1 lakh government jobs over the next six months, with appointment letters expected to be distributed in weekly batches.

The Chief Minister claimed that more than 9.3 lakh government jobs have been provided in the state over the past nine and a half years. He stressed that recruitment should remain transparent and based on merit.

Focus on Merit-Based Recruitment

Adityanath said his government had sought to move away from what he described as corruption and political interference in recruitment processes before 2017. He asserted that appointments under the current system have been made through merit-based procedures.

He also reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and malpractice, warning that strict action would be taken against those involved in wrongdoing.

Youth Employment Opportunities Abroad

The Chief Minister highlighted efforts to create employment opportunities for Uttar Pradesh’s youth overseas. He said countries including Japan, Germany and Israel have shown interest in recruiting workers from the state.

According to Adityanath, around 5,000 youths from Uttar Pradesh have travelled to Israel for employment, earning about ₹1.5 lakh per month along with food and accommodation benefits.

Sugar Stocks and Mill Operations

Adityanath also said Uttar Pradesh currently has around 2.8 million tonnes of sugar stocks, against monthly consumption of approximately 400,000 tonnes. He announced that sugar mills in the state would resume operations from October 15.

The event ended on a lighter note as newly appointed youths gathered around the Chief Minister, with several attendees requesting selfies with him. Adityanath obliged and interacted with the young participants before leaving the venue.
