Temple Wearable Device Pre-Orders Start November 1, 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Temple wearable device, developed by Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal, aims to provide insights into brain activity, distinguishing it from traditional smartwatches. This innovative gadget has garnered attention since Goyal showcased it on Raj Shamani’s podcast, and it is now poised for its public launch. Pre-orders for Temple are set to commence on November 1, 2026, with an initial limited batch available for customers.

Each Temple device will be custom-made, resulting in a delivery timeframe of up to three months post-purchase. The company has confirmed that the wearable will be available in six distinct colour options, adding to its appeal among potential users.

Functionality and Technology Behind Temple

Temple is designed as a compact, pill-shaped device that sits comfortably on the side of the head, positioned between the forehead and ear. Unlike conventional smartwatches that primarily focus on fitness metrics, Temple aims to monitor brain-related signals. Its core technology, known as BrainFlow, employs optical sensors to track variations in cerebral blood flow, which refers to blood movement within the brain.

In addition to monitoring blood flow, Temple assesses signals related to oxygen levels and cognitive load. The overarching objective is to assist users in understanding their physiological responses to stress, exercise, and recovery. The device also provides an Entropy score, ranging from 1 to 250, which reflects physiological strain influenced by factors such as sleep, exercise, stress, and caffeine intake. It is important to note that Temple is intended for wellness and research purposes, rather than for medical diagnostics.

Users can wear Temple using single-use adhesive tapes, referred to as Grips, which secure the device during various activities. Goyal has indicated that it is suitable for running, swimming, showering, and even sauna use, although scuba diving is not advisable. Each Grip is designed to last approximately seven days, but the company recommends changing them every two to three days, particularly for those who sweat heavily or are in dusty environments.

Pricing and Availability Details

The launch edition of Temple will be offered in six colours: True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue, and Purple Funk. Among these, Real Jade, Deep Blue, and Purple Funk are classified as limited-edition variants. Initial early-access invitations suggest a price point of Rs 85,000, but potential buyers are encouraged to await the official pricing announcement before placing orders.

While pre-orders open on November 1, customers may experience a delay before receiving their devices. Goyal has stated that each Temple is handcrafted to order, with a delivery window of three months following the purchase date. This approach is intended to ensure quality control and proper service for each customer.

The company has not disclosed the number of units available in the first production batch. Currently, Temple represents a unique exploration in the realm of wearable technology, with potential applications extending from athletic recovery tracking to research on cognitive load and fatigue. Goyal has also mentioned future possibilities in aviation and the conversion of brain signals into text, although these advancements are projected to be several years away.
