Wimbledon’s Day 5 on July 3 brings a packed schedule highlighted by prominent players such as 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka. The matches are set to occur at the All England Club, with the day’s play commencing on the outside courts at 3:30 PM IST. The key action on Centre Court will begin later, starting at 7:00 PM IST, while the No. 1 Court will see matches kick-off at 6:30 PM IST.
Centre Court features Djokovic as he opens the day’s proceedings against Arthur Rinderknech from France. Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon winner, aims for a historic 25th Grand Slam singles title. Following him, the World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will face Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko, while Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will compete against American Michael Zheng.
Notable Changes in Court Schedule
A key highlight ahead of Day 5 is the absence of defending champion Jannik Sinner from Centre Court. Typically, he would be showcasing his title defence on the premier court, but this year he has been scheduled to play on No. 1 Court against Jenson Brooksby from the United States. Earlier in the tournament, Sinner secured his place in the third round by defeating Portugal’s Nuno Borges in straight sets.
This decision to move Sinner to a different court has drawn attention, especially given his status as the reigning champion. Instead of Sinner, No. 1 Court will commence the day’s matches with a significant women’s singles contest featuring Naomi Osaka against Daria Kasatkina from Australia.
Sinner enters his match in strong form, boasting an impressive record in 2026, with 40 victories against just three losses, as he seeks his fifth Grand Slam title this season. The final singles match on No. 1 Court will see American players Coco Gauff and Claire Liu battling for a spot in the fourth round.
Supporting Matches Across Other Courts
Additionally, Court No. 2 will feature several notable matches, starting with Brazilian teenager Joo Fonseca against Roman Safiullin. This will be followed by Jessica Pegula taking on Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, and the play will conclude with a significant encounter between Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul.
On Court No. 3, Belinda Bencic will face Anna Kalinskaya, while Daniil Medvedev will meet Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in a match scheduled to start not before 5:00 PM IST. Karolina Muchova will then complete the singles fixtures for the day against Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew.
Outside the main show courts, there are several other notable singles matches scheduled. On Court 12, Ekaterina Alexandrova is set to play against American teenager Iva Jovic, while Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will later meet Hungary’s Márton Fucsovics. Court 18 will feature defending champion Barbora Krejcikova facing her compatriot Nikola Bartunkova, along with Spanish player Rafael Jodar competing against Japan’s Shintaro Mochizuki.
The doubles competitions will also see action on the outside courts, including a return for former World No. 1 Venus Williams competing in the mixed doubles along with Germany’s Kevin Krawietz. Conversely, her sister Serena Williams remains absent from the playing schedule as she continues to recover from a knee injury.
