The CSR Journal Magazine

A 64-year-old man was reportedly beaten to death in Gurugram following a verbal altercation. The victim, identified as Balram, reportedly had a history of mutual verbal abuse with the three accused individuals. The violent incident allegedly took place on the night of June 12-13, 2026, with the accused reacting to the exchange by attacking Balram with sticks and rods. This brutal assault resulted in his death at the scene.

Actions Taken by the Accused After Alleged Murder

Following the alleged murder, the accused reportedly took steps to conceal their actions. They allegedly carried Balram’s body approximately 500 metres away from the crime scene to an isolated area behind Khandsa village. Here, they allegedly set the body on fire in an attempt to destroy any evidence linking them to the crime. They remained on-site until they believed the body had been completely consumed by the flames.

In a further attempt to erase their involvement, the accused reportedly removed a ring from Balram’s hand and sold it to a jeweller for approximately Rs 70,000. This ring has since been recovered by the police as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when Balram’s son filed a missing person complaint at the Sector-37 Police Station on June 14, 2026. The police subsequently initiated an investigation that involved examining CCTV footage and employing technical surveillance methods to track down the missing individual.

Police Investigation Leads to Arrests

The investigation took a significant turn when authorities determined that Balram had not merely gone missing but had allegedly been murdered. After receiving a specific tip-off, officials from the Sector-37 police team arrested the three suspects on June 19, 2026. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vishesh Tomar, aged 18, from Shamli, Ghaziabad district, Mithun, aged 30, from Fakana village in Bulandshahr, and Sandeep, aged 41, from Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, Haryana.

Initial police records indicate that Sandeep has a prior history related to a murder case in Sonipat, while Mithun has faced two earlier assault-related cases registered in both Ghaziabad and Gurugram. Their criminal backgrounds are under review as part of the ongoing investigation.

The trio of suspects are set to be produced before a court, where police will seek remand for further questioning. Investigators aim to recover the sticks, motorcycle, and any other evidence allegedly used during the commission of the crime during this remand period.
