Taxi Driver Arrested for Beheading Live-in Partner in UP-Haryana Border Horror

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a shocking and grisly case, a taxi driver, Bilal, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 30-year-old live-in partner, Uma, and dumping her decapitated body near Kalesar National Park in Haryana. The crime reportedly took place on December 6, with the head recovered following a cross-state investigation on Sunday.

Uma, mother of a 13-year-old son, had been living alone in Saharanpur after separating from her husband. She had been in a two-year secret relationship with Bilal, who reportedly covered all her expenses. Police said, “The accused was afraid Uma might go to his home and reveal everything, which could jeopardize his upcoming marriage.”

Premeditated Murder

According to investigators, Bilal picked up Uma in his Swift car and drove her around for nearly six hours, initially looking for a hotel in Himachal Pradesh. Failing to find a secluded spot, he drove to a remote area near Lal Dhang gorge in Kalesar forest. There, Bilal allegedly strangled Uma on the back seat and decapitated her with a meat cleaver before leaving her body in a ravine.

After committing the murder, Bilal returned to his home and proceeded with wedding preparations, even formatting his mobile phone to erase traces of Uma. Police traced him using CCTV footage and mobile tracking, finally apprehending him during his sister’s pre-wedding celebrations.

Background and Investigation

Uma’s life had been marked by personal struggles. She had left her home fifteen years ago for a love marriage, later divorced, and had been living separately in Saharanpur. Bilal, under pressure from his family to marry, allegedly planned the murder to remove Uma from his life. The investigation is ongoing as police attempt to recover the murder weapon and complete forensic procedures.

The case has left communities in both Saharanpur and Haryana shocked, highlighting the deadly consequences of secret relationships and personal disputes.
