In a recent discussion with Vogue, she expressed her frustration over the notion of “bouncing back,” asking, “From where?” The actor, who welcomed her son Vihaan with husband Vicky Kaushal, has openly discussed the challenges of postpartum body-shaming.

She also weighed in on the complexities of balancing motherhood with her professional commitments. Following her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in September, Katrina faced online scrutiny, with many making comments about her appearance despite her having given birth less than a year prior.

Kaif emphasised her preference for focusing on her personal journey rather than being swayed by public opinion. “We live in a world that wants to blow us around in the ever-changing winds of opinions,” she stated, asserting that societal judgement often stems from personal choice rather than ignorance about the physical changes women experience post-childbirth.

Kaif Discusses Her Fitness Journey

The actress has made it clear that she does not intend to rush her fitness journey to satisfy external expectations. For Katrina, motherhood represents a significant advancement in her life rather than a phase to revert from. She described her experience of becoming a mother as profoundly personal, recalling the overwhelming emotions she felt upon first seeing her son.

“The first few days after I gave birth, it was an indescribable feeling to see Vihaan’s face and know that four years of a journey for me and Vicky had led to this,” she reflected. Katrina remains mindful of her fitness but is determined to approach it without undue pressure. She understands what it feels like to be at her healthiest and most energetic but has chosen not to impose a strict timeline on herself.

“I am very aware of my fitness journey and where my body feels at its most energetic. I will reach there at my own pace,” she affirmed. Her remarks challenge the common pressure placed on women, especially in the public eye, to regain their pre-pregnancy appearances shortly after childbirth. In her statements, Katrina advocates for a more compassionate understanding of the physical transformations that accompany motherhood, highlighting the need for societal acceptance of these changes.

Kaif Praises Kaushal’s Parenting

Katrina also spoke highly of her husband, Vicky Kaushal, describing him as a supportive partner who respects her individuality and actively listens to her. She commended his family values and integrity, playfully noting that while he is wise in practice, she is wise in theory. Katrina highlighted Vicky’s commitment as a father, mentioning that he remains fully engaged with her and their son, even after long work hours.

Although the couple’s romantic outings have become less frequent since becoming parents, Katrina noted that Vicky continues to reassure her that they will eventually carve out time for those cherished moments. Aside from her family life, Katrina is also actively involved with her beauty brand, Kay Beauty, and has no immediate plans to return to acting. Currently, she is focused on spending quality time with her family, avoiding social media, and ensuring she is present for bedtime with Vihaan.
