Rohullah Mehndi Arrested in Mumbai Drug Bust Linked to Bollywood

The CSR Journal Magazine

Rohullah Mehndi Dar, known as Rohu, was arrested in a significant operation targeting a purported drug network in Bollywood. The Kashimira Police in Mira Road detained him along with an associate after seizing 28 grams of Mephedrone, or MD, valued at around Rs 5.6 lakh. An FIR has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, making Mehndi a primary accused in the case.

Execution of the Sting Operation

Crime Branch officer Sanjay Lokhande shared that police acted on intelligence about MD drugs being peddled through platforms like Snapchat and WhatsApp. Using a decoy customer, authorities managed to set up a sting operation. A suspect named Kasif was lured to Thakur Mall near Dahisar Check Naka for a drug delivery of 28 grams of MD.

Following the arrest of Kasif, police interrogated him, leading them to identify Rohullah Mehndi as a key figure in the operation. This prompted a police team to locate and apprehend Mehndi outside a shooting studio in Malad. Officials indicated that Mehndi hails from the Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir but currently resides in Goregaon.

The involvement of Mehndi, who has appeared in Shahid Kapoor’s 2025 action-thriller “Deva” as well as various web series, has led investigators to look deeper into possible connections between drug suppliers and the film industry.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigations

After his arrest, Rohullah Mehndi was presented in court, where he was remanded to police custody for five days. Investigators are now focused on extracting detailed information from Mehndi to compile a client list and identify the broader distribution network underpinning the drug operation.

Authorities are particularly interested in determining whether drugs were supplied to other notable individuals in the entertainment industry. The links between the alleged drug trade and Bollywood are under scrutiny as further investigations unfold.

Expectations of additional arrests have been articulated by law enforcement, signalling that this case may lead to a wider crackdown on drug-related activities within film circles. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to dismantle any existing networks.

Implications for the Film Industry

The arrest of Rohullah Mehndi has raised questions about the prevalence of drug use and trafficking in the Bollywood film industry. His involvement in notable projects has thrown a spotlight on potential illicit activities, leading to increased vigilance among authorities.

As the investigation progresses, law enforcement agencies are keen to establish whether there are larger trends of drug distribution tied to influential figures in the industry. This situation represents a significant moment for not only the individuals involved but also for the broader entertainment community.

Mehndi’s case serves as a serious reminder of the ongoing battle against drugs and the challenges faced in curbing such networks in popular culture. The implications are far-reaching, suggesting that more stringent measures may need to be considered to address similar issues in the future.
