RBSE Class 12 Results Declared; Ganganagar Student Who Scored 93.88% Dies Before Announcement

On Tuesday the Board of Secondary Education announced the Class 12 results. Results for all three streams—Arts, Science and Commerce—were declared, bringing joy to students and their families across the state. But, for one family in Sri Ganganagar district, it is a difficult time, the family lost their daughter who had appeared for the exam.

Nikita, 17, a bright student who had appeared in the Class 12 exam from Rawla tehsil of Sri Ganganagar district, secured 93.88 per cent in the board examinations. However, she isn’t alive to see her result, she passed away on March 20.

What happened to Nikita?

Nikita was a student of Government Senior Secondary School in Rawla, she had long been fighting hepatitis and diabetes. Even though her health condition wasn’t good, she continued her education and performed very well. Nikita’s parents are daily wage labourers and are left shattered as this time for celebration, turned into grief and mourning. Her family members said that this moment would have been the best moment of her life and they would have celebrated it. “She worked very hard despite her illness. This result would have meant everything to her,” said a relative of Nikita.

How are the RBSE 12th results this year?

In the Class 12 board exam, conducted from February 12 to March 11, around 8.5 lakh students registered for the RBSE Class 12 examinations this year, out of which 8.2 lakh appeared. Among all streams, the Arts stream saw the highest participation, with over 6 lakh students appearing, 2.3 lakhs appearing for Science, and over 30,000 students appearing for Commerce. Just like last year, this year girls also outshone boys in all the streams.

The pass percentage for girls stood at 96.42 percent, while boys secured 92.64 per cent. In the Commerce stream, the clearance rate was highest among girls at 99.51 percent; they surpassed boys who had a pass percentage of 98.66 per cent. And in the Arts stream, girls passed with 98.95 per cent, and boys with 95.80 per cent.
