Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Unveils Development Initiatives Worth Rs 1,902 Crore in Beneshwar

The CSR Journal Magazine

On March 16, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 326 development projects totaling Rs 1,902 crore during the ‘Rajasthani Tribal Pride Day’ event held at Beneshwar Dham in Dungarpur district. This event marks a significant step in promoting development in the tribal region of Rajasthan.

Focus on Education and Empowerment

During the proceedings, the Chief Minister urged the youth to remain vigilant against attempts to instigate them for political purposes. CM Sharma arrived at Beneshwar Dham via helicopter, welcomed by BJP leaders and local administrative officials. His visit included prayers at the Valmiki Temple and the Hari Temple, underscoring his connection to the cultural and religious heritage of the area.

Support for Women’s Self-Help Groups

Sharma took the opportunity to inspect an exhibition that showcased products created by women from self-help groups, emphasizing the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. He also distributed scooters to high-achieving girl students, handed out tablets to “Lakhpati Didis,” and issued loan cheques to women’s self-help groups. This initiative aims to encourage education and support local entrepreneurship.

Development Plans for Beneshwar Dham

Highlighting the significance of the tribal community in Rajasthan’s progress, CM Sharma stated that Beneshwar Dham, a vital religious site for the tribal populace, had been overlooked for years. The state government will initiate development projects worth approximately Rs 130 crore at this location, which will involve the construction of ghats, roads, and enhancements to basic facilities.

Preserving Tribal Heritage

The Chief Minister expressed the government’s intent to bolster small and cottage industries while working to preserve tribal art and cultural heritage. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that artisans receive equitable compensation for their craftsmanship in the marketplace, thus supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Tribute to Tribal Leaders and Freedom Fighters

In remembering tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, CM Sharma noted that his contributions had not been adequately recognized over the years. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to honor Munda during the commemoration of his 150th birth anniversary. The Chief Minister also paid homage to tribal leader Govind Guru and other tribal figures, recognizing their dedication to social upliftment.

Political Remarks on Local Leadership

Without specifying names, Sharma directed criticism at leaders from the Bharat Adivasi Party, alleging that some individuals in the Vagad region were misleading tribal youth for political gains. He pointed out that while these leaders send their children to study in major cities like Jaipur, Kota, and Sikar, they incite young people in the local tribal community instead of guiding them toward education and development.

New Development Initiatives in Banswara

Additionally, CM Sharma mentioned that the Union Government has catalyzed new developmental prospects in the area by launching a nuclear power project valued at Rs 45,000 crore in Banswara. This initiative is expected to further enhance the economic landscape of the region and improve living standards for its residents.
