The CSR Journal Magazine

In a tragic accident early Saturday, a 65-year-old woman lost her life in Khar after being struck by an autorickshaw during her routine morning walk. The incident occurred around 4:30 am near CB Road, close to Pimpaleshwar Mandir Chowk.

The victim, identified as Kubrabano Mansoori, was diabetic and followed a disciplined walking schedule. “Usually, she would leave around 4.30 am and return home around 8.30 am,” a police officer said.

Kubrabano’s husband, Shabbir Mansoori, a 69-year-old tailor, shared that they had planned to take her to the doctor for a diabetes-related consultation after her walk. “When she did not return home on time, we stepped out to look for her but could not find her,” he said.

Family Informed of Kubrabano’s Death at Bhabha Hospital

The family later learned from a neighbor working at Bhabha Hospital that Kubrabano had been admitted after an accident and had passed away. They rushed to the hospital and confirmed her identity.

Police identified the autorickshaw driver as Kailash Singh. He had brought Kubrabano to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival. An FIR has been registered against Singh, and a notice has been issued to him. The officer added that since the offence carries a maximum sentence of less than seven years, he was allowed to go.

Authorities are now examining CCTV footage from the area to determine how the accident happened. The family, shaken by the sudden loss, continues to grapple with the tragedy, highlighting the risks faced by pedestrians during early morning hours.
