Maharashtra Man Beheads Wife, Chops and Dumps Body Parts; Arrested After Confession

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a chilling case from Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi, police discovered the severed head of a woman near the Idgah Road slum and slaughterhouse area on August 30. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Parveen alias Muskan, had been missing for two days prior to the discovery. Her husband, Mohammad Taha Ansari (25), a driver by profession, was detained and later confessed to murdering his wife.

Wife Killed, Body Dismembered

According to police, Taha allegedly slit Muskan’s throat, chopped her body into multiple pieces, and disposed of them in a nearby bay. The severed head was the only part recovered at the time of the report. Authorities are now searching for the remaining body parts with the help of forensic teams, fire department personnel, dog squads, and drone surveillance.

Muskan’s mother had earlier reported her missing, stating her phone was switched off and her husband was not cooperating with the search. The house where the couple lived, a few meters away from where the head was found, had reportedly been locked for four days.

Disputes and Troubled Marriage

Muskan had married Taha two years ago, and the couple reportedly had frequent fights. She had even moved out with her one-year-old son to a rented house near the Idgah Bay area. Police sources indicate a history of domestic disputes, which may have escalated into the fatal attack.

Taha, during interrogation, confessed to the killing but provided inconsistent and conflicting reasons. He claimed his wife beat the children and possibly used drugs, but investigators said his story kept changing. “It is difficult to believe the reasons he is giving. The investigation is ongoing,” said Shashikant Borate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhiwandi.

Police Seek Full Picture

The head was sent to a sub-district hospital for post-mortem examination, and the rest of the body remains unaccounted for. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and local informers have been mobilized to assist in the probe. Taha has been remanded in police custody until September 11.

This shocking incident adds to a string of recent brutal crimes across the country involving domestic violence, jealousy, and interpersonal disputes. Police have registered a case of murder and continue efforts to recover the remaining body parts and the murder weapon, believed to have been discarded in water.
