Skoda Auto India To Increase Vehicle Prices By Up To Rs 20,000 From October 1

The CSR Journal Magazine

Skoda Auto India has announced a price increase across its vehicle lineup, set to take effect on October 1, 2026. The company has indicated that the adjustment will be up to 1.2 per cent, with the maximum rise capped at Rs 20,000. The decision is attributed to the rising costs of inputs and operational expenses, which have prompted the need for this price revision.

Details of Affected Models

The price hike will affect the ex-showroom prices of various Skoda models sold in India. The actual increase will depend on the specific model and variant chosen by consumers. Currently, Skoda’s range in India includes the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq, alongside performance models like the Octavia RS and Kodiaq RS. These vehicles have become popular choices within the Indian market, contributing to the company’s growth.

In addition to the price adjustments, Skoda has launched new trims and features across its offerings during 2026. Notable new variants, such as the Sportline variant of the Kylaq and the Classic+ and Prestige+ trims, have been introduced, augmenting the choices available to customers. This strategic move is intended to meet evolving consumer preferences and enhance the overall appeal of Skoda’s products.

The company has enjoyed a notable increase in sales, recording its highest-ever first-half sales figures in 2026. As of August, Skoda reportedly sold over 50,000 vehicles in India for the year, which translates to a growth rate exceeding 8 per cent compared to the same period in 2025. Previous to this, Skoda achieved annual sales of 72,655 vehicles in 2025, representing the highest figures achieved at that time.

Sales Milestones and Achievements

Skoda has celebrated a significant milestone, surpassing 250,000 locally manufactured vehicle sales during its recent growth phase. This includes its popular models like the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia, with the Kylaq alone exceeding sales of 75,000 units. These sales milestones demonstrate the brand’s expanding footprint in the Indian automotive market.

Furthermore, Skoda has expanded its retail network, now boasting more than 345 touchpoints across 193 cities in India. This expansion is part of Skoda’s strategy to enhance accessibility for consumers and meet growing demand in diverse markets throughout the nation. The company’s efforts reflect a commitment to providing robust support and service to its customers, thereby improving overall satisfaction.

The impending price revisions and ongoing enhancements in product offerings and retail presence illustrate Skoda’s proactive approach in a competitive automotive landscape. As the brand continues to grow and adapt to market demands, the forthcoming price adjustments are presented as a necessary step to maintain operational viability amidst escalating costs.
