The CSR Journal Magazine

A 30-year-old man was reportedly beaten to death by his in-laws in Lucknow after being invited to their residence. The incident took place in the Ashiana locality, where Vishnu Yadav, who was originally from Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, visited the home of his wife, Sakshi Singh. According to police, this violent act was fueled by ongoing grievances stemming from the couple’s marriage, which had taken place four years ago against the wishes of Sakshi’s family.

Details of the Assault

The police revealed that Sakshi was restrained prior to the assault. She was reportedly tied up and had her mouth gagged, effectively preventing her from intervening during the violent attack on her husband. Authorities described how she was confined to a room while her husband was brutally assaulted. The alleged perpetrators, including Sakshi’s parents and four sisters, reportedly used wooden planks and iron rods to inflict injuries on Yadav.

Discovery of the Victim

When police arrived at the scene after receiving an emergency call, they found Vishnu Yadav lying in a pool of blood. Sakshi was also discovered injured and still bound. A post-mortem examination revealed that Yadav had sustained an extensive array of injuries. Medical professionals documented a total of 20 antemortem injuries on his body, with 16 specifically located on his head. The autopsy revealed that he suffered from skull fractures, internal bleeding, and severe trauma to the face and neck.

Cause of Death and Arrests Made

The cause of death was attributed to shock and significant blood loss resulting from multiple blunt force trauma injuries. Following the investigation, six individuals were taken into custody. Those arrested include Tirthraj Singh, Saroj Devi, and their five daughters—Radha, Ratna, Jyoti, and Vidhi. Police recovered blood-stained implements, including wooden planks and iron rods, from the site of the incident.

Family’s Reaction and Ongoing Investigation

Family members of the deceased have called for the death penalty for those accused in the case. In the wake of the violent incident, police authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they collect more evidence and further testimony related to the circumstances surrounding the incident.
