The CSR Journal Magazine

A woman and her alleged lover, a gym trainer, have been taken into custody in Ghaziabad for reportedly conspiring to murder her husband, Shashank Kantharia. The incident occurred on October 26, when Shashank was stabbed multiple times at his residence. Authorities stated that the attack was triggered by Shashank’s discovery of his wife’s relationship with the trainer, Pratap Singh.

The stabbing took place at approximately 5.15 am at the Jagriti RWA Society in Vasundhara Sector 1. Following the attack, Shashank raised an alarm, prompting the assailants to flee the scene. Police arrived shortly after receiving information about the incident and transported Shashank to Yashoda Medicity hospital for urgent medical care.

Details of the Attack

According to police reports, Priya Sharma, Shashank’s wife, was preparing to leave for the gym when Pratap allegedly entered their home and attacked Shashank with a knife. The severity of the injuries sustained by Shashank was significant, leading to immediate hospitalisation. The police managed to recover the weapon involved in the attack based on information provided by the accused.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Priya had been training at Fitness Headquarters gym for the past seven to eight months, where she developed a close relationship with Pratap. This relationship reportedly evolved into a romantic involvement, which led to the alleged conspiracy to eliminate Shashank.

On October 25, the day prior to the attack, Pratap and Priya allegedly met during a morning run, where they discussed their intentions to remove Shashank from their lives. The following morning, Priya is said to have left the gate open for Pratap, facilitating his entry into the house to carry out the attack.

Legal Proceedings and Investigation

Following the incident, a case was registered by the Indirapuram police based on a complaint lodged by Shashank’s brother. The charges include attempted murder and criminal conspiracy, along with other applicable legal provisions. Both Priya and Pratap have been arrested, and the knife used in the attack has been recovered as part of the investigation.

Authorities are currently scrutinising the roles of both individuals in the alleged conspiracy. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Indirapuram, Suryabali Maurya, is expected to provide additional information regarding the ongoing investigation and any developments in the case.

The incident has raised concerns about domestic violence and the implications of extramarital affairs, prompting discussions about the need for awareness and preventive measures in society. As the investigation unfolds, further details are anticipated from law enforcement officials, shedding light on the motivations and circumstances surrounding this troubling case.
