Karnataka CM Shivakumar Approves Rs 29,679 Crore Investment Projects

The Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, has given the green light to a series of new investment initiatives, amounting to a total of ₹29,679 crore. This approval was granted during a meeting of the High-Level Clearance Committee, which took place on September 2 in Bengaluru. The investments are poised to contribute substantially to the state’s industrial landscape.

In total, nine new projects along with eight additional investment proposals were sanctioned. The anticipated outcomes of these investments include the creation of approximately 66,360 jobs in various sectors, thereby enhancing employment opportunities within the state.

Among the prominent investments approved, Vibrancy Renewable Energies is set to invest ₹2,194.94 crore, which will create jobs for around 30,000 individuals. Mahindra Aerostructures is investing ₹2,300 crore and expects to generate 3,000 jobs, while Aequs Consumer Products is set to contribute ₹1,104 crore and create around 4,813 jobs.

Details on Individual Investments

The comprehensive list of investments also includes significant contributions from Hero Future Energies, which will invest ₹9,760 crore to create 3,200 jobs. Other notable investments comprise ₹1,500 crore from Epsilon, ₹1,200 crore from Toyota Kirloskar, and ₹4,062 crore from Nirani Sugars. TruAlt Bioenergy and Lighthouse Alternative Assets are also contributing ₹2,988 crore and ₹600 crore respectively.

Additionally, several companies are making further investments. MSPL will inject ₹884.25 crore, while Ensure Reliance Power Solutions will add ₹250 crore. Other companies such as Honda Cars, Bhima Fine Chemicals, Sansera, TVS Motors, and Havells India are making capital investments of ₹437 crore, ₹605 crore, ₹492.24 crore, ₹1,050 crore, and ₹250 crore respectively.

The Chief Minister highlighted the need for rigorous scrutiny of project reports provided for industrial licences, directing the Finance Department to ensure thorough evaluation before approvals are granted. He also mandated the establishment of a pre-clearance audit for all projects going forward.

Focus on Compliance and Industrial Policy

Furthermore, Chief Minister Shivakumar called on officials to ensure strict adherence to all facets of the state’s industrial policy. He emphasised the importance of taking necessary actions to promote the establishment and expansion of industries within Karnataka.

Ministers MB Patil, KJ George, Priyank Kharge, Ajay Singh, and PM Narendra Swamy were present at the meeting, alongside Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and other senior officials. The discussion involved not only the approvals but also the overall strategy to foster an industrial-friendly environment in the state.

The Chief Minister’s efforts reflect a commitment to enhancing investment opportunities in Karnataka, with a focus on job creation and industrial growth. The successful implementation of these projects is expected to stimulate economic development across various sectors in the region.
