Vivo X500 FE and V80 FE Set for Global Launch

The CSR Journal Magazine

Vivo is reportedly advancing towards the global launch of two new smartphones, the Vivo X500 FE and the Vivo V80 FE. The Vivo X500 FE has recently obtained a certification from Singapore’s IMDA, confirming its support for 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity. However, the certification does not disclose further specifications of the device.

This is not the first instance of the Vivo X500 FE appearing in international certification databases. The device has previously been listed on Indonesia’s TKDN and the European EEC platforms. Additionally, model numbers V2653 and V2654 have been identified in the IMEI database, suggesting that Vivo is actively preparing for its launch.

According to various leaks, the Vivo X500 FE is expected to feature a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and may include a substantial 6,500mAh battery, supporting both 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. The camera configuration is speculated to comprise a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor, although Vivo has yet to officially confirm these specifications.

Vivo V80 FE Specifications and Potential India Launch

In contrast, the Vivo V80 FE has surfaced on the company’s official website in the Philippines, revealing a range of notable features. This smartphone operates on OriginOS 7, which is based on Android 17, and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset. It boasts a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a robust 7,000mAh battery that supports 90W charging.

The camera system of the Vivo V80 FE is particularly impressive, featuring three 50MP cameras on both the front and rear. The rear setup includes a Zeiss main camera equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an ultrawide camera, while the front-facing camera is designed with autofocus capabilities. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K video, enhancing the device’s appeal for photography enthusiasts.

When compared to its predecessor, the V70 FE, the V80 FE has made a significant change by replacing the 200MP main camera with a 50MP sensor, while maintaining the same battery capacity and charging speed. The V80 FE has also cleared the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification in India, along with approvals in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, indicating a broader market launch may be imminent.

Future Prospects for Vivo Smartphones

While Vivo has not yet disclosed an official launch date or pricing for the V80 FE in India, the recent certifications and listings suggest that the smartphone could soon be available in multiple markets. The interest generated by these devices, particularly among Indian consumers, highlights Vivo’s commitment to expanding its product offerings in the competitive smartphone landscape.

As the launch dates approach, further details regarding the specifications and pricing are expected to emerge. The anticipation surrounding the Vivo X500 FE and V80 FE underscores the evolving nature of smartphone technology and consumer demand for innovative features.

Overall, Vivo’s strategic moves in obtaining certifications and revealing specifications indicate that these smartphones are on track for a successful global rollout, catering to diverse consumer needs and preferences across various regions.
