Social media influencer Kamal Kaur, originally known as Kanchan Kumari and in her mid-30s, was found dead inside a car parked near Adesh Medical University in Bathinda. Punjab Police have launched a murder investigation after locals alerted authorities to a foul smell emanating from the vehicle.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bathinda, Amneet Kondal, confirmed that prima facie evidence suggests foul play. He added that the case is being treated as a suspected homicide. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and an FIR has been registered.

The body was discovered after passersby noticed the odor coming from the parked car and informed the police.

Kamal Kaur had a following of 3.83 lakh on Instagram and was previously involved in controversy for using explicit language in her videos. In October, she reportedly received threats from Canada-based Khalistani gangster Arsh Dalla, who allegedly warned her to stop posting objectionable content.

Bathinda Police stated on X (formerly Twitter):

“Today evening, PS Cantt Bathinda received information from the Control Room about a foul smell emanating from a parked car in the Adesh Hospital parking area, Bhucho. A police team rushed to the scene and launched an investigation.”

Bathinda SP (City) Narinder Singh told the media: “It appears that the car was abandoned here after the crime. The post-mortem report will help determine the cause of death. The vehicle also seems to have fake registration number plates, and we are verifying its details with transport authorities.”
