Ghaziabad Horror: Wife Bites Off Husband’s Tongue, He Permanently Loses Ability to Speak

The CSR Journal Magazine

A disturbing case of extreme domestic violence has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, where a 26-year-old man has permanently lost his ability to speak after his wife allegedly bit off his tongue during a violent altercation. Doctors in Meerut confirmed that the damage was irreversible and speech could not be restored.

Incident Took Place Just Months After Marriage

The victim, Vipin, a resident of Sanjaypuri in Modinagar town, worked as a labourer at a welding factory. He married Isha, a woman from Meerut, in May 2025. According to Vipin’s family, marital discord began almost immediately after the wedding, escalating into frequent disputes.

On the night of January 19, 2026, an argument reportedly broke out between the couple. During the confrontation, Isha allegedly bit off Vipin’s tongue during physical intimacy, severing it completely.

Doctors Unable to Reattach Tongue

Vipin was rushed to Subharti Hospital in Meerut, where doctors attempted emergency treatment. Medical staff informed the family that reattaching the severed tongue was impossible due to extensive blood vessel damage. Surgeons stitched the remaining portion to allow healing, but confirmed that Vipin would never regain normal speech.

Vipin was discharged from the hospital on January 25 and remains at home, communicating only through gestures and groans of pain.

Family Stores Tongue in Refrigerator

In a move that shocked many, Vipin’s family preserved the severed portion of the tongue by wrapping it in cloth and storing it in a refrigerator. The family stated that the sole purpose was to retain physical evidence in case police require it during the investigation.

Vipin’s mother filed a complaint at Modinagar police station, following which police registered an FIR and arrested Isha on January 20. She has since been sent to judicial custody. Authorities confirmed that the case is under investigation and statements from all parties are being recorded.

Allegations of Ongoing Marital Conflict

Family members and close friends alleged that Isha was unwilling to continue the marriage and frequently stayed away from the matrimonial home. They also claimed repeated quarrels and emotional distress plagued Vipin. Police officials said all allegations will be examined objectively as part of the probe.
