The CSR Journal Magazine

On the ninth day of Sharadiya Navratri, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath worshipped Goddess Siddhidatri, marking a significant moment in the festival. He extended greetings to the residents of Uttar Pradesh, emphasising the cultural importance of the occasion and the pivotal role women play in society. Adityanath’s message underscored that the strength, resolve, and confidence of women are vital for the progress of the state.

In his address, the Chief Minister articulated that societies which honour and respect women tend to experience greater prosperity and overall well-being. He connected the values embodied in the Navratri celebrations to the essential participation of women in developmental activities, asserting that their involvement is crucial for a thriving community.

Values of Courage and Responsibility

Adityanath also invoked the ideals associated with Goddess Durga and Lord Ram in a separate message, which was shared in anticipation of Vijayadashami. He highlighted the courage exemplified by Goddess Durga and the life lessons from Lord Ram, stating that these figures inspire individuals to stand against injustice, respect women, and fulfil their responsibilities. The Chief Minister urged the public to reject arrogance, injustice, discrimination, and negativity, reinforcing the moral values that the festival represents.

Vijayadashami, which signifies the triumph of good over evil, serves as a timely reminder to reflect on these principles. Adityanath’s messages during this festival period not only celebrate cultural values but also encourage a collective commitment to social justice and equity.

Alongside his cultural messages, Adityanath provided an overview of Uttar Pradesh’s development over the past nine and a half years. He claimed that the state’s gross state domestic product, per capita income, budget, and women’s labour force participation have all tripled during this timeframe, showcasing significant economic growth.

Economic Growth and Development Initiatives

In his remarks, Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh had attracted investment proposals exceeding ₹50 lakh crore. He noted a substantial increase in the number of large factories, which rose from 14,000 to 35,000, resulting in employment opportunities for over 6.5 million young individuals. This economic expansion reflects the government’s efforts to foster a conducive environment for business and job creation.

Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that Uttar Pradesh accounts for 60 per cent of India’s expressway network, which has contributed to improved connectivity and infrastructure. He reported that agricultural growth in the state has surged from 8 per cent to 18 per cent, indicating a robust agricultural sector that supports the livelihoods of many residents.

Adityanath also highlighted the provision of nearly 950,000 government jobs, achieved through what he described as a fair and transparent recruitment process. He noted a significant increase in the number of start-ups, which have grown from 120 to over 24,000, alongside a revitalised micro, small, and medium enterprises sector that has created more than three crore employment opportunities. His messages during Navratri and Vijayadashami encapsulated themes of faith, respect for women, and the rejection of injustice, while his development claims focused on employment, investment, and economic growth in Uttar Pradesh.
