Family of Five Found Dead in Kasganj; Soldier Suspected in Murder-Suicide

A family of five was discovered deceased in their rented home in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. Police suspect that Satyadev, a soldier, is responsible for the deaths of his wife and three children before taking his own life. The grim discovery was made on Saturday when neighbors reported an unusual odor emanating from the residences.

The family’s house, situated near a petrol station on Eta Road, also served as a welding shop where Satyadev was employed. Responding to the reports, officers from the Amanpur police station arrived at the location and forcibly opened a locked door. Inside, they found the bodies of the family members in a single room.

The officer in charge of the Amanpur station indicated that preliminary investigations pointed to a tragic scenario where Satyadev may have taken the lives of his wife and children prior to his suicide. Authorities believe the incident likely occurred approximately two days before the bodies were found.

Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma visited the scene, accompanied by senior officials, including the Additional Superintendent of Police and the Circle Officer, to oversee the ongoing investigation. A forensic team was engaged to examine the site thoroughly and collect necessary evidence.

According to law enforcement, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations to determine the precise causes and timing of death. Investigators are exploring multiple angles to uncover the motives that may have led to this severe act.

The area around the residence has been secured as investigators work to compile evidence and await autopsy results to gain a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding this case.
