Drug Dealer Arrested In Jammu With Heroin Worth ₹1.5 Crore In Major Police Bust

In a significant operation, Jammu Police apprehended a drug dealer on Saturday and confiscated approximately 262 grams of heroin, estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 crore in the international market. The arrest also involved the recovery of Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, a mobile phone, and a weighing machine from the accused.

Details of the Arrest

The operation unfolded at Tutray Chowk on Ring Road around 7.40 PM when a police naka team, under the leadership of Police Sub-Inspector Rajan Choudhary, observed a suspicious individual. Upon noticing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was promptly detained by the police team. Authorities have identified the individual as Harpal Singh, who hails from the Kathua district.

Legal Action Initiated

Following the arrest, the police registered a case against Singh under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Miran Sahib Police Station. Investigations are ongoing, with a particular focus on uncovering both the forward and backward connections within the drug trafficking network.
