Flying Flea Expands to Pune With 10 Sales and Service Centres

The CSR Journal Magazine

Flying Flea, the electric mobility brand of Royal Enfield, has officially launched its operations in Pune, marking its entry into the third Indian city after Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This expansion includes the establishment of ten sales and service centres throughout Pune, aimed at enhancing customer access to the Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle. The initiative is part of the brand’s strategy to strengthen its retail network and provide comprehensive after-sales support to its customers.

The introduction of the Flying Flea C6 in Pune follows its successful rollout in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, where the motorcycle has garnered positive feedback from owners, who have collectively covered over 1.25 lakh kilometres. The Pune centres will complement the existing twelve sales and service centres in Bengaluru and four in Hyderabad, thereby broadening the brand’s outreach and service capabilities.

Customers visiting the new centres in Pune will have the opportunity to explore the features of the FF.C6, as well as receive routine maintenance and dedicated technical assistance. The operational model is based on Flying Flea’s hub-and-spoke ownership ecosystem, designed to facilitate efficient service and support throughout the ownership experience.

Details of the Flying Flea C6

The Flying Flea C6 is priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in two distinct colour options: Storm Black and Flea Green. Additionally, customers can opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which reduces the upfront cost to Rs 1.99 lakh. This innovative pricing strategy aims to make electric mobility more accessible to a broader audience.

Inspired by the original Flying Flea motorcycles that served military forces in the 1940s, the FF.C6 combines retro aesthetics with modern electric vehicle technology. Royal Enfield markets the motorcycle as a city+ model, designed for urban agility while incorporating premium connectivity and rider-focused features.

Powering the Flying Flea C6 is a 3.91kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired with an electric motor that delivers 15.4kW (21bhp) and 60Nm of torque. The motorcycle is said to achieve over 400Nm of wheel torque, with a kerb weight of 124kg and a claimed top speed of 115 km/h. Charging options include Rapid, Standard, and Trickle modes, allowing users to charge the battery from 20 to 80 per cent in just over an hour using a standard 16A socket.

Advanced Features and Technology

The Flying Flea C6 is equipped with a range of advanced features, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G connectivity, enabling remote vehicle monitoring and over-the-air software updates. Rider assistance technologies such as lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, and cruise control enhance the overall riding experience. Connected functions include voice assistance, live location sharing, and tip-over alerts, ensuring a comprehensive user experience.

A round TFT touchscreen, operated via joystick controls, serves as the main interface for the motorcycle, while a rotary mode selector allows riders to switch between different riding modes. One notable engineering feature of the FF.C6 is its forged aluminium Girder fork suspension, which modernises a traditional design for contemporary electric motorcycles. Additional features include an articulating front mudguard, a removable pillion seat, and adjustable footpegs.

With its entry into Pune, Flying Flea continues its strategic, phased expansion across India, focusing on building its retail and service infrastructure alongside the rollout of its electric motorcycle range. This initiative highlights the brand’s commitment to enhancing the electric mobility landscape in the country.
