A 16-year-old boy was injured in a shooting incident in Delhi, which police believe is connected to a prior altercation over a bike. The event occurred on the night of October 4, 2026, outside a general store located in Jaitpur Extension Part-II. Following the shooting, local authorities were alerted at 8:41 pm via a PCR call to the Kalindi Kunj police station.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered the teenager, a resident of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh who operates a salon, suffering from a gunshot wound. His maternal cousin, 30-year-old Md Kamil, transported him to Safdarjung Hospital for urgent medical attention. At the time, the victim was undergoing surgery, preventing police from obtaining an immediate account of the incident.

Authorities reported that an eyewitness who met with investigators at the hospital provided a statement, aiding the ongoing inquiry. Police suspect that the altercation may have stemmed from previous animosity between the victim and the two alleged offenders.

Details of the Prior Dispute

Investigations indicate that a quarrel had occurred between two groups on March 5, involving the teenager and the accused, related to a motorcycle. During this earlier confrontation, a scissor injury was allegedly inflicted, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). As a result of this earlier conflict, it is believed that the latest shooting incident was carried out by two juveniles, aged 16 and 17.

Reportedly, the police have linked the shooting to the previous scuffle, maintaining that it was possibly driven by unresolved tensions from the earlier incident. The police have confirmed the recovery of an empty cartridge and a bullet head from the crime scene, which has been examined by the Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini.

In the course of the investigation, authorities compiled evidence including photographs of the site, aiming to reconstruct the sequence of events. The two juveniles accused in the case were apprehended shortly after the incident, one reportedly hailing from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, while the other resides in Delhi.
