Delhi Police Reunites 118 Abducted and Missing Individuals with Families in Operation Milap

The South-West District Police of Delhi have successfully located and reunited 118 individuals, comprising 31 children and 87 adults, who were reported as missing or kidnapped. This remarkable achievement occurred as part of “Operation Milap” during the month of February. After receiving reports regarding these missing persons, local police initiated immediate search efforts.

Strategic Search Initiatives and Techniques Utilized

The investigation involved a variety of approaches, including local inquiries and extensive searches of CCTV footage. Police displayed photographs of the missing individuals at various transportation hubs such as auto stands, e-rickshaw stands, bus stations, and railway stations to solicit assistance from the public. Additionally, the police consulted with bus drivers, conductors, and nearby vendors to track the movements of the missing individuals. The operation also involved the use of local informants, which proved beneficial during the search process.

Comprehensive Checking of Records

Police officials conducted thorough examinations of records at local police stations and hospitals, ensuring no detail was overlooked in the effort to locate missing persons. The results of these initiatives were evident, with 118 individuals successfully traced between February 1 and February 28. Various police stations contributed to this effort, showcasing the collaborative nature of the operation.

Breakdown of Traced Individuals by Police Stations

During this period, specific contributions came from multiple police stations. The Vasant Vihar station traced 9 missing individuals, comprising 2 males and 7 females. At the RK Puram station, efforts led to the recovery of 1 missing minor boy and 6 individuals (2 males and 4 females). The South Campus police found 2 missing minor girls and 1 male. In an effort led by the Palam Village station, 6 missing minors (1 boy and 5 girls) were located, along with 11 additional persons (6 males and 5 females). The Sagarpur station successfully traced 5 minor girls and 11 adults, while the SJ Enclave police recovered 1 minor girl and 13 adults (10 males and 3 females). The Kishangarh station reported finding 2 minor girls and 3 adults, the Sarojini Nagar station located 4 persons, and the Delhi Cantt police traced 1 female individual.
