A 20-year-old woman was saved by an employee of an electronics store in East Delhi’s Vishwas Nagar after she jumped from the window of the Santosh Residency Hotel on Friday afternoon. The incident was reported to authorities around 1 PM, with details emerging from the Farsh Bazar police station.

According to initial findings, the woman had checked into the hotel earlier that day accompanied by a 22-year-old man. Shortly after, a heated argument ensued between the two inside their room, resulting in the woman allegedly taking the drastic step of jumping out of the window.

Brave Action by Electronics Shop Employee

Ashish, an employee at the electronics shop located on the ground floor of the hotel, noticed the woman standing near the window and realized her intentions. Reacting swiftly, he positioned large cardboard boxes beneath the window, including those typically used for large appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. Ashish stated that he was immediately concerned and wanted to cushion her fall. Fortunately, when she fell, the stacked boxes significantly mitigated the impact, leading to a less severe outcome.

Initial Medical Evaluation

After her fall, the woman lost consciousness but, importantly, did not sustain life-threatening injuries as per the preliminary medical assessment. The rapid response of Ashish in cushioning her fall has been credited with preventing a potentially fatal consequence. Authorities were notified by a PCR call regarding the incident, leading to a response by the local police.

Police Investigation Underway

Delhi Police have initiated an inquiry to gather more information about the events leading up to the woman’s jump. In an official communication, they confirmed that a quarrel had occurred between the young couple shortly after their hotel check-in. As investigations continue, police are focusing on determining the precise circumstances surrounding the incident and appropriate actions to take.

Additional Crime Activity on the Same Day

On the same day as the hotel incident, the Delhi Police Crime Branch engaged with members of the notorious Asad Gang from Meerut in the Usmanpur area. When challenged by the police, gang members opened fire, prompting a shootout that resulted in injuries to three suspects. Authorities have stated that the situation was handled swiftly, leading to the apprehension of the gang members involved.
