Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Children

To commemorate Raksha Bandhan, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta welcomed a group of children at the Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan. During this festive occasion, the children tied traditional rakhis on her wrists, fostering an atmosphere of celebration and goodwill. The interaction focused on encouraging the children’s educational goals and personal ambitions.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Gupta engaged with the children, discussing their dreams and aspirations. She expressed her commitment to initiatives set forth by the Delhi Government that aim to enhance their educational opportunities and overall well-being. On Thursday, during the Raksha Bandhan festivities, young girls tied rakhis on the Chief Minister’s wrists, reinforcing the bonds of affection and protection that characterise this festival.

CM Gupta Shares Raksha Bandhan Message

In a post shared via social media platform X, CM Gupta reflected on the joy that such celebrations bring to children. She stated, “The joy of festivals among children is something else altogether. Today, I celebrated Raksha Bandhan with my dear little friends who came from different parts of Delhi.” She continued to describe how the children expressed their affection by tying multiple rakhis, sharing sweets, and engaging in playful chatter, bringing much joy to the event.

Gupta further remarked, “My children, this love of yours is no less than a blessing for me. May your smiles always bloom like this, may every opportunity come your way in your dreams, and may Delhi always remain safe and full of possibilities for you. Today, there are so many rakhis on my wrist and heaps of your love in my heart.”

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Also Highlighted

This festive gathering followed the recent launch of the ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’, a scheme designed to provide financial assistance to eligible women, thereby promoting their financial independence and enabling them to better manage daily needs with confidence.

On the previous day, numerous students from various schools visited Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood as part of the Raksha Bandhan celebrations. They also tied rakhis on his wrist, symbolising affection and the spirit of brotherhood inherent to the festival. Minister Sood interacted with the attendees, commending their involvement in the celebrations and extending heartfelt wishes to the students and their families.

In a statement published on X, Sood expressed the emotional impact of the children’s gestures, saying, “On this sacred occasion of Rakhi, receiving the love and affection of the children has filled my heart with joy.”
