Among controversy and restriction, members of the Gurjar community forcefully unveiled statues of late Gurjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla, two other martyrs at Kushalipura village in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve area. In the presence of the family members, the statues of Kirori Lal Bainsla, Shaheed Radheshyam and Shaheed Kanhaiya Lal were unveiled. Havan and prayers were offered by family members and a huge gathering representing the community.
Forcefully statue installed in CTH (Critical Tiger Habitat)
The major controversy around this event is that as per the officials the site where the statue has been unveiled directly falls under the CTH (Critical Tiger Habitat) and no installing of statue or any other activities is permitted in this area, as it is a crucial habitat of tigers.
Despite the restriction not only the statue was unveiled but a huge gathering performed vedic rituals and chants which disturbed the tigers nearby, forcing them to leave their critical habitat and move backward. Son of late Kirori Singh Bainsla, Vijay Singh Bainsla reached the site and performed the rituals. As per the officials, the statue was forcefully brought on Friday night and since then community members started gathering
People of the Gurjar community were seen dancing and singing during the event.
Heavy police deployment kept on standby
Since yesterday night tension was prevalent in the area, police and community members came face-to-face. Keeping the gathering in mind, huge police deployment from Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dausa have been kept on standby. As per the Gurjar community members, this particular site is crucial and significant as it has association with the Gurjar reservation agitation. “People of our community lost their lives here during agitation. We have been long demanding a martyr memorial at this place, and finally it has been fulfilled,” noted a community member.
While addressing the gathering, Vijay Singh Bainsla strongly criticized local MLA Jitendra Gothwal, and alleged that he had promised to install the statues of the martyr during the 2023 Assembly elections, however the promise has not been fulfilled.
