Bharat Forge Releases CSR Report for 2025-26, Showcases Impact Across Rural India

Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) has published its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for the financial year 2025-26, highlighting the organisation’s development efforts and measurable outcomes throughout rural India. The report indicates that BFL’s initiatives have directly benefited 333,959 individuals while indirectly reaching 709,123 people during this period. The company’s outreach extended to 246,402 residents in rural areas, with a significant focus on education and skill development.

In terms of educational impacts, the organisation has positively affected the lives of 49,334 students through its various programmes. Furthermore, BFL’s commitment to vocational training resulted in support for 3,250 students in the reporting year, contributing to a cumulative total of 39,809 youth engaged in skill development initiatives.

B. N. Kalyani, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Forge, stated that CSR involves consistent engagement and meaningful execution rather than mere donations. He emphasized the importance of involving local communities in the planning and implementation processes, thereby ensuring that developmental advancements are collaborative rather than imposed.

Skill Development and North-East Initiatives

Amit B. Kalyani, the Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, highlighted the essential role of skill development in enhancing employability and enabling individuals to thrive in a changing economy. The company is committed to broadening its outreach and fostering sustainable livelihoods across diverse geographical regions.

Particularly noteworthy is the focus on the North-East region of India, where BFL has expanded its CSR initiatives to support advanced skills, technological learning, and improved access to education. The establishment of a Centre of Excellence at the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre in Dimapur exemplifies this commitment by providing resources in robotics, artificial intelligence, and smart automation.

Additionally, skill labs equipped with 3D printers and robotics kits have been set up in two government schools in Dimapur. Under the Vidyanjali initiative, BFL is also providing financial support and mentorship to 29 students from the North-East, aiming to enhance their higher education prospects.

Environmental Sustainability and Community Development

Water conservation is a principal focus of BFL’s CSR initiatives. During the financial year 2025-26, the company successfully created 575 TCM of water-storage capacity, bringing its cumulative achievement since 2015 to 3,701 TCM. The projects have reportedly conserved an average of 1,185,255 KL of water, surpassing the average consumed by BFL’s own operations over the last nine years.

Efforts to advance renewable energy infrastructure included the addition of 898 kW in capacity. Furthermore, BFL has undertaken extensive tree planting, contributing to a total of 135,365 trees planted in 2025-26 and a cumulative total of 479,939 trees since implementation began. The company also converted 1,679 tonnes of organic waste into manure during the reporting fiscal year, promoting efficient waste management.

In terms of rural development and agricultural initiatives, BFL has irrigated 9,610 acres of land, levelled 25 acres for cultivation, and constructed 15 km of roads, while also enhancing infrastructure in six government schools. Support was extended to 790 women through vocational training programmes and health coverage was provided to 1,083 women, further promoting community welfare.

She reiterated the organisation’s commitment to adapt its strategies to meet the specific needs of various regions, aiming for a sustainable and equitable future.
