IPE Hyderabad Launches Scholarships Up to Rs 2 Lakh for CAT Aspirants

The CSR Journal Magazine

IPE, or the Institute of Public Enterprise, located in Hyderabad, has introduced a scholarship initiative aimed at students preparing for the Common Admission Test (CAT). This programme is designed for those seeking admission to the full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) for the 2027–29 academic batch. The scholarships will be merit-based, allowing selected candidates with strong CAT performances to receive awards of up to Rs 2 lakh.

The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students pursuing quality management education. By recognising academic excellence, IPE endeavours to provide talented individuals a pathway to professional management training.

Students from the General category who achieve a CAT score of 80 percentile or above will qualify for the top scholarship amount. Additional categories have been established that allow students from various percentile ranges and underrepresented groups to apply for scholarships, subject to specific eligibility criteria outlined by the institute.

Eligibility Criteria and Additional Provisions

The eligibility framework for the scholarships includes provisions for candidates from OBC, SC/ST, and Minority communities. Furthermore, students from designated regions such as Northeastern states, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh are also encouraged to apply. There is no cap on the number of scholarships awarded, reflecting the institution’s commitment to supporting numerous deserving candidates.

Each academic year, IPE allocates over Rs 2 crores for scholarships, thus maintaining a robust financial aid programme to assist those in need. Prospective students can find more details on the official IPE website, which provides in-depth information about the scholarship application process.

The CAT examination is a pivotal entry point for many aspiring management students and is recognised by India’s leading business schools, including IIMs and IPE. The assessment evaluates students’ competencies in key areas, such as quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and verbal skills, thereby fostering essential analytical capabilities that are vital in today’s competitive business landscape.

Director’s Perspective on the Initiative

Prof. S. Sreenivasa Murthy, the Director of IPE, emphasised the importance of viewing CAT results as more than just a score. He stated that these results provide a platform for students to make thoughtful decisions about their future educational paths. A strong performance in the CAT showcases a student’s potential and dedication, and he believes selecting the right institution is crucial for transforming that potential into valuable managerial skills.

He further commented that IPE strives to offer an educational experience combining rigorous academic training with practical industry insights. This support aims to equip students with the necessary tools for successful management careers. Financial constraints should not deter capable students from pursuing their ambitions, and through these scholarships, IPE encourages talented candidates to explore their opportunities.

Prof. Murthy also urged aspirants to consider the advantages of applying for the upcoming CAT examination and highlighted its closing date of September 15, 2026. He noted that a high CAT score could not only broaden their access to various management institutions but also qualify them for IPE’s scholarship offerings.

Affiliated Programmes and Future Prospects

Established in 1964, IPE has gained recognition for its contributions to management education, research, and executive training. The institution offers six AICTE approved PGDM programmes that cover diverse specialisations, including Marketing, Banking, and Business Analytics. All PGDM degrees are considered equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities.

By harmonising academic theory with industry practices, IPE prepares its students for roles in management and leadership across various sectors. Individuals interested in exploring the scholarship opportunities are encouraged to apply for admission to these programmes and take their first step towards a successful career in management.
