Xiaomi has introduced its Mijia smart home brand to the Indian market, focusing on air purifiers that address pollution concerns prevalent in urban areas. The newly launched models include the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact, alongside the reintroduction of the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite. These devices cater to diverse room sizes and price brackets, with the Mijia Air Purifier 6 positioned as the flagship model and the 4 Compact tailored for smaller environments. Prices begin at Rs 7,999 and go up to Rs 19,999 for the premium model. The three air purifiers will be available for purchase starting from September 2, 2026.

Specifications of New Air Purifiers

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is designed to serve larger rooms, effectively covering areas up to 940 square feet, based on a rate of two air changes per hour. It features a Particle CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 443 m³/h and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 m³/h. According to Xiaomi’s internal testing, the purifier can adequately cleanse a 108 square foot room in approximately three and a half minutes. This model employs a comprehensive five-stage filtration system that combines traditional filtration with activated carbon technology for removing gaseous pollutants like formaldehyde, alongside UV-C light and negative ion functionality. Users can monitor air quality metrics such as PM2.5 and PM1 levels, temperature, and humidity via a colour display. The device can also be controlled using the Xiaomi Home app, as well as through Alexa and Google Assistant. In Sleep Mode, the noise level is reduced to around 32 dB(A).

In contrast, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is designed for smaller spaces, including bedrooms and study areas, and can accommodate rooms over 400 square feet. It utilises a 3-in-1 filtration system designed to capture 99.97 per cent of particles as minute as 0.3 microns, and it holds the TV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification. This model incorporates a straightforward four-colour air quality indicator and operates in three modes: Auto, Sleep, and Manual. It is lightweight at 2.2 kg and operates at a mere 20 dB in Sleep Mode with the display deactivated. The device consumes around 0.65 kWh over a continuous 24-hour period at maximum power and also connects to the Xiaomi Home app, supporting practical compatibility with popular voice assistants.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite is making a comeback with a Particle CADR of up to 360 m³/h and is capable of covering spaces ranging from 269 to 463 square feet. This model features a three-layer filtration system comprising a primary filter, a high-efficiency filter, and activated carbon. It also enjoys the TV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification. In Night Mode, the operational noise level is a modest 33.4 dB(A), and real-time air quality can be monitored through the Xiaomi Home app.
