Ravi Kishan Calls Gen Z the Soul of India at Khidkiyaan Film Festival

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ravi Kishan, the actor-politician and BJP Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur, has expressed his admiration for Generation Z, referring to them as the soul of India. His comments were made during the Khidkiyaan Theatre Film Festival 2026 held in Mumbai, where he shared the stage with fellow Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Kishan conveyed his belief that this younger generation will play a crucial role in the nation’s future.

“Gen Z is the soul of this country,” Kishan stated, emphasising the importance of the younger generation in shaping the nation. He remarked that he sees a reflection of himself in these young individuals, suggesting a strong connection between their aspirations and his own experiences. Kishan further asserted that this generation is poised to lead the country in various capacities, from governance to grassroots movements.

Context of Protests Led by CJP

The comments from Kishan came in the wake of protests initiated by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) in Delhi. The protests began on June 6, 2023, at Jantar Mantar, focusing on allegations of vote theft and demanding accountability from the government. The demonstrators called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, which garnered significant attention and support in the following weeks.

On July 20, the opening day of the Monsoon Session, the protests escalated into a large march towards Parliament. Protesters faced police barricades, tear gas, and lathi charges as they sought action regarding the examination controversy. The pressure from the demonstrators continued throughout July, culminating in Pradhan’s resignation on July 25, which marked a pivotal moment for the movement.

Months later, the CJP shifted its focus from educational issues to electoral integrity, alleging irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. The group demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the electoral body of failing to protect the integrity of the electoral process. This renewed mobilisation brought the CJP back to Jantar Mantar and other public spaces, highlighting the ongoing concerns of young citizens.

Kishan Distinguishes Gen Z from CJP Protests

Kishan also urged society not to impose views on young Indians, asserting that they are already well-informed and capable of forming their own opinions. He emphasised that Gen Z possesses a wealth of knowledge and understanding, which should be respected. “It will not be good if anyone tries to teach them anything,” he concluded, highlighting the importance of recognising the capabilities of the younger generation.

In summary, Ravi Kishan’s remarks reflect a growing recognition of the potential of Generation Z in India. His statements come amid significant protests that have captured national attention, yet he aims to separate the younger generation from the ongoing political discourse. Kishan’s advocacy for Gen Z underscores a belief in their ability to lead and contribute positively to the future of the nation.
