The CSR Journal Magazine

A woman has lodged a formal complaint against two individuals, alleging sexual exploitation, blackmail, and extortion related to a false promise of marriage in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) and commenced an investigation into the matter. According to the woman’s statement, her acquaintance with Shakti Pratap Singh originated from a matrimonial website. She claims that after some time, Singh introduced her to another man, Harsh Raghuvanshi.

The woman reported to law enforcement that Singh, who was imprisoned during the course of their interactions, facilitated her connection with Raghuvanshi. She stated that Raghuvanshi gained her trust, inviting her to Lucknow and even arranging her travel tickets to provide reassurance. Upon her arrival, she alleges that he established intimate relations with her, claiming that their relationship was centered on marriage.

As per the details in the FIR, the woman revealed that Raghuvanshi communicated with her over several conversations and invited her to Lucknow on August 12, 2025, backing his invitation by purchasing her train ticket. She stated that she checked into a hotel between 5:30 and 6:00 am on August 13. The FIR further outlines that the accused made promises of marriage and indicated that he would introduce her to his family, but instead, he reportedly violated her consent, documenting private images and videos during their encounter.

The complainant indicated to authorities that when she raised objections, she was given assurances of an imminent marriage and subsequently returned home. However, she claims that the accused utilized the recorded content to blackmail her, demanding approximately Rs 1.8 lakh. The FIR notes that on November 25, 2025, she was invited to Lucknow once more, under the pretext that the recorded material would be deleted. Following her check-in at the same hotel the next morning, she alleged that Raghuvanshi again forced himself upon her and failed to delete the material, continuing the cycle of blackmail.

Moreover, she alleged ongoing threats from the accused regarding the potential dissemination of the photos and videos, along with demands for Rs 5 lakh. The accused reportedly pressured her to engage in physical relations with his associates as well. The police have confirmed the registration of a case and are actively pursuing further investigative measures into the allegations made by the woman.
