UP Man Beats Parents to Death, Chops Bodies With Saw After Dispute Over Muslim Wife

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a horrifying incident from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly killed his old parents following long-standing disputes over money, land, and his interfaith marriage.

The accused, identified as Ambesh, reportedly attacked his mother, Babita (63), with a heavy object and strangled his father, Shyam Bahadur (65), during a heated argument at their home on December 8. The gruesome killings have left the village community in shock.

Gruesome Disposal of Bodies

After the murders, Ambesh allegedly dismembered his parents’ bodies using a saw kept in the basement of their house, which was under construction. The bodies were chopped into six parts, placed in cement bags, and dumped into nearby rivers.

Most of their body parts were thrown into the Gomti River, while one part of Babita’s body, which did not fit into a bag, was discarded into the Sai River. Police have recovered one body part so far, and divers are continuing the search for the remaining remains.

Family Dispute Escalates

The tragedy reportedly stems from Ambesh’s interfaith marriage to a Muslim woman during the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple, who have two children, were not accepted by Ambesh’s parents, who frequently pressured him to separate. The conflict escalated when his wife demanded maintenance, prompting Ambesh to ask his father for financial help. Shyam Bahadur’s refusal is said to have triggered the fatal confrontation.

Missing Person Complaint Leads to Arrest

The couple’s daughter, Vandana, became suspicious after she failed to contact her parents or brother and filed a missing persons complaint on December 13. Vandana revealed that Ambesh had called her on December 8, claiming their parents had left home after an argument and that he was searching for them.

After this call, Ambesh’s phone went off, raising police suspicion. Authorities traced him on December 15, during which he initially provided conflicting statements before confessing to the murders.

Investigation and Evidence

Police recovered the saw used to dismember the bodies and the heavy object that was reportedly used to attack Babita. Ambesh also attempted to clean the crime scene using his parents’ clothes. Officers are continuing search operations to recover the remaining body parts from the rivers.

The incident has left residents of Ahmedpur village reeling. Locals expressed shock over the escalation of a family dispute into such extreme violence. Senior police officials urged families to resolve conflicts peacefully and to report any suspicious activity to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
