The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting on March 12 at the CFC Auditorium in Ayodhya, focusing on the upcoming visit of President Droupadi Murmu. The President is set to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on March 19, as confirmed by Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde. Funde provided updates about the ongoing preparations for the event, emphasizing that efforts are in full swing to ensure a well-organized visit.

Consultative Meetings with Officials

During discussions, District Magistrate Funde highlighted that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is leading the organization of the event. Key local authorities, including the Commissioner, Additional Director General, and Deputy Inspector General, have met with various departmental officials to coordinate the logistics. All teams have been instructed to follow specific guidelines to facilitate a successful program on March 19, which coincidentally marks the first day of the Hindu New Year.

Access Arrangements for Devotees

In an effort to provide uninterrupted access for devotees to the temple, officials stated that VVIP passes will not be issued during the President’s visit. Funde assured the public that measures are being implemented to ensure a seamless experience for all visitors. The temple’s darshan will start an hour earlier than usual, with operations extending late into the night. Access to the temple will be briefly paused only when the President and other dignitaries arrive to conduct religious rituals.

President’s Address at Jal Mahotsav 2026

On the same day, President Droupadi Murmu spoke at ‘Jal Mahotsav 2026’ held in New Delhi. She emphasized that water in India is integral to culture, tradition, and community well-being. The President noted the historical challenges faced by villagers, particularly women and children, in accessing clean drinking water, and highlighted the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission initiated by the Government of India to provide safe and accessible drinking water directly to households.

Community Involvement in Water Management

Murmu pointed out that when communities share the responsibility of resource management, conservation becomes more effective and sustainable. She expressed her belief in the importance of community ownership in water conservation initiatives and highlighted the benefits of celebrating ‘Jal Arpan Diwas’, which signifies the official transfer of water supply management to local gram panchayats. The President commended the role of Self-Help Groups in water testing and maintenance, noting their significant contributions to both female empowerment and societal improvements.

Nationwide Campaign Promoting Community Resources

The Ministry of Jal Shakti is currently hosting Jal Mahotsav 2026, a nationwide campaign running from March 8 to March 22. This initiative aims to foster community involvement and strengthen local management of drinking water services under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This campaign seeks to enhance the collective responsibility of citizens in ensuring the delivery of clean and safe water.
