Oracle Expands Partnership With OpenAI to Integrate AI Tools in Enterprises

The CSR Journal Magazine

Oracle has announced an expansion of its collaboration with OpenAI, aiming to incorporate artificial intelligence directly into enterprise environments. This announcement was made at the Oracle AI World event held in Las Vegas on October 27. The tech company unveiled a series of innovative tools designed to facilitate the use of AI in everyday business operations, application development, and cybersecurity.

The most significant development from this partnership is the introduction of the Oracle AI Workspace. This platform integrates OpenAI’s advanced models, including ChatGPT and Codex, with Oracle’s extensive range of enterprise software and cloud services. This integration is expected to streamline workflows and enhance productivity within organisations.

The Oracle AI Workspace serves as a central hub that connects ChatGPT with essential business applications, such as Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Applications, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This centralisation allows employees to utilise ChatGPT plugins to accomplish tasks without switching between different software systems.

AI-Driven Security Solutions for Businesses

In response to increasing cyber threats, Oracle has introduced the AI Security Mesh, a managed service that employs OpenAI’s cybersecurity models. This tool is designed to proactively identify and rectify vulnerabilities within a company’s computer networks before they can be exploited by malicious actors.

The AI Security Mesh operates across Oracle’s OCI, other cloud platforms, and on-premises servers. Oracle is responsible for maintaining safety protocols to ensure that the AI testing does not lead to system outages or operational disruptions. Customers retain control over which specific areas of their networks are subject to testing, allowing for tailored security measures.

Oracle’s commitment to security and efficiency is evident in the design of this tool, which aims to fortify businesses against potential cyber threats while ensuring operational continuity. The integration of AI into security processes represents a significant advancement in safeguarding enterprise data and infrastructure.

Empowering Small Businesses With AI Tools

Another notable feature introduced at the event is the Oracle App Composer, which empowers employees to create their own internal enterprise applications without requiring coding expertise. This tool leverages OpenAI’s Codex to generate software, while Oracle manages the complex backend deployment through OCI.

The Oracle App Composer connects newly developed applications with approved company data and incorporates a technology known as APEXlang. This ensures that the generated code remains clean and maintainable over time, facilitating ease of use for non-technical staff. To further support smaller enterprises, Oracle has launched the AI SMB Bundle, which provides small business owners access to ChatGPT Business, Codex, the Oracle AI Workspace, and NetSuite QuickStart.

This package is designed to assist in managing essential operations such as invoicing and cash flow. Eligible small businesses can also receive up to $12,000 in annual Oracle cloud credits, making it easier for startups to develop products and manage daily operations without significant initial investment.

Oracle’s CEO, Clay Magouyrk, highlighted that this collaboration merges OpenAI’s AI capabilities with Oracle’s extensive enterprise infrastructure. While specific pricing and release dates for the individual products have yet to be announced, the partnership aims to simplify the processes of building, deploying, and managing business operations securely in the evolving AI landscape.
