A recent incident in Ghaziabad has been recorded on CCTV, revealing the events leading to the stabbing of a man by his wife’s lover, a gym trainer. The footage shows Priya Sharma leaving her residence in the early hours of October 26, shortly before her partner, Pratap Singh, enters the home. The video later captures Pratap fleeing the scene after allegedly attacking Shashank Kantharia, Priya’s husband.

According to police reports, the attack took place while Shashank was asleep in their rented flat located in the Jagriti Resident Welfare Association Society in Vasundhara Sector 1. Following the incident, both Pratap and Priya have been arrested on charges of attempted murder.

The CCTV footage indicates that Priya drove out of her home at 5:17 am, seemingly en route to the gym. Just three minutes later, Pratap was observed walking down a nearly deserted road before entering the couple’s residence. It has been alleged that Priya left the gate open to allow Pratap access to the home.

Details of the Attack and Immediate Aftermath

At approximately 5:23 am, Pratap is seen exiting the house shortly after the attack. Another CCTV clip shows him fleeing the building as neighbours, alerted by the commotion, began to pursue him. By 5:43 am, a crowd of neighbours had gathered outside the couple’s home, and a car arrived shortly thereafter to transport the injured Shashank to a nearby hospital.

Shashank was subsequently rushed to Yashoda Medicity hospital for medical attention. The police have stated that both Priya and Pratap were apprehended, and the knife allegedly used in the attack has been recovered based on their information.

Authorities have initiated a case against the accused, which includes charges of attempted murder and criminal conspiracy. The investigation is ongoing as police gather further evidence related to the incident.

Background of the Relationship

Investigators have revealed that Priya had been a member of Fitness Headquarters gym for approximately seven to eight months, where Pratap was employed as a trainer. During this time, the two reportedly developed a close relationship, which eventually escalated into an affair.

The situation became complicated when Shashank discovered the relationship. Reports indicate that he was in the process of moving to a different flat in anticipation of Diwali celebrations. The affair between Priya and Pratap allegedly led them to contemplate drastic actions against Shashank.

On October 25, the day prior to the stabbing, Priya and Pratap reportedly met during a morning run, where they discussed their plan to eliminate Shashank. The following morning, Priya’s actions of leaving the gate open facilitated Pratap’s entry into their home, ultimately leading to the violent incident.

As the investigation continues, police are focused on gathering more details about the relationship dynamics and the events that led to the attack. The community remains in shock as they process the implications of this violent act within their neighbourhood.
