In a horrifying incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district, police have detained a couple for allegedly torturing and murdering a 45-year-old man named Anish. The accused, Raees Ahmed and his wife Sitara, reportedly used tools such as screwdrivers and pliers to inflict brutal injuries on Anish at their home.

According to the victim’s father, Mustakim, the couple called Anish to their house where he was subjected to extreme torture. Mustakim said, “They broke his hands and legs, stripped him. They called him to their home and murdered him.”

Family Claims Loan Dispute Led to Murder

Anish’s family has alleged that the motive behind the murder was a financial dispute. Mustakim explained that his son’s wedding had been finalised, and Anish had gone to the couple’s home to ask for Rs 7 lakh that he had lent them years ago.

“They killed my son so brutally that I cannot even describe it,” Mustakim said. After being tortured, Anish somehow managed to escape from the accused couple’s house and run back home. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries there.

Police Points to Extramarital Affair as Motive

While the family insists the murder was over the loan amount, police investigations indicate a different angle. Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Srivastava said that during questioning, it was revealed that Anish was in a relationship with Sitara.

Srivastava stated, “Raees and Sitara plotted Anish’s murder, invited him over and then killed him.” The reason why Sitara would be involved in such a plot remains unclear. The police have registered a murder case and are pursuing further investigation.

Victim’s Family Seeks Justice

Anish’s relatives are devastated and demand swift action against the accused couple. The brutal nature of the crime and the conflicting motives, loan dispute versus extramarital affair, have shocked the local community. Police continue to interrogate Raees and Sitara, while gathering more evidence to build a strong case.

Husband Detained for Wife’s Murder

In another tragic case, Rohit Saini, a BJP Mandal general secretary from Kishangarh, Rajasthan, was detained for allegedly killing his wife Sanju. Rohit had fabricated a story claiming his wife was robbed and murdered during a return journey from a nearby village. However, police became suspicious due to inconsistencies in his statements and lack of serious injuries on Rohit.

Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said, “Rohit wanted to get rid of his wife, and with his four accomplices, he fabricated the story and killed his wife.” Investigations are ongoing, and police are searching for the accomplices involved in the murder.
