Ukraine and Russia Exchange Wounded Prisoners of War

Side of the world, two countries are exchanging their wounded citizens, known as refugees. Ukraine and Russia exchanged another round of ill and severely wounded servicemen on Thursday, according to the officials of both nations.Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, writes in a message on Telegram messaging app, stating that all the Ukrainian troops need treatment and medical assistance. No clear image of the number of people involved was given in the message.


The capital city is a Kiev and Moscow agreed to a large exchange of prisoners of war (PoWs). Means of thousands of dead soldiers were also exchanged, as discussed during talks between the two nations in Istanbul earlier this month.


Russia and Ukraine have swapped dozens of prisoners till now, with a major focus on those under 25 and the severely wounded and sick people. There are hopes that this could build into one of the biggest exchanges in the war that was triggered by Russia’s 2022 invasion of the neighbouring state of Ukraine. Russia’s defence ministry said that a group of Russian troops have returned from Ukraine and crossed into the neighbouring country of Belarus. All this goes in accordance with the agreement made on June 2, uptill now.
