The CSR Journal Magazine

Drishyam 3, featuring Ajay Devgn, has reportedly achieved a significant milestone by crossing the Rs 400 crore mark globally in just eight days. The film accumulated Rs 14.50 crore in India on its second Friday, pushing the worldwide gross to Rs 407 crore. This achievement positions Drishyam 3 among the top-performing films within the franchise, intensifying its competition with prior success stories.

The domestic box office figures show a strong performance, with the film’s gross in India now reaching Rs 312 crore. Further breakdown reveals that its nett collection stands at Rs 260 crore, demonstrating robust audience engagement. Internationally, the film also performed well, adding Rs 6 crore on Friday, resulting in a total overseas gross of Rs 95 crore.

The film’s successful opening week has significantly contributed to its overall box office performance. According to reports from industry tracking site Sacnilk, the film managed to generate substantial revenue across numerous screenings in India on Day 8.

Opening Weekend Success and Audience Reception

Upon its release, Drishyam 3 captured audiences with an impressive start, recording the third-largest opening for a Hindi film and marking the most successful opening of Ajay Devgn’s career. Following the advance bookings that commenced on September 27, the film collected Rs 27 crore before its official launch.

The momentum built during the opening weekend, with earnings of Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 61 crore on Sunday. By the conclusion of its first week, the nett collection in India reached Rs 245.50 crore, indicating a strong reception from moviegoers. The figures from the second Friday suggest sustained interest as the film transitions into its second week in theatres.

As the film continues to attract audiences, discussions about its potential performance against Ajay Devgn’s previous achievements are gaining traction. The competitive landscape is set as the film aims to surpass the domestic nett collection of Rs 279.59 crore generated by Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Future Projections and Production Details

Drishyam 3’s worldwide gross of Rs 407 crore already marks a noteworthy milestone for the franchise. With a current nett collection of Rs 260 crore in India, the gap to surpass Tanhaji has considerably narrowed. Achieving this target will require the film to maintain its appeal and box-office momentum over the coming weeks.

The ensemble cast includes well-known actors such as Tabu, Prakash Raj, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Saran, who contribute significantly to the film’s dynamics.

The film, titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, is produced under the banners of Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios. The screenplay was co-written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Parveez Shaikh, showcasing a collaborative effort in bringing this project to fruition. The production team consists of prominent figures like Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Pathak himself, reflecting a strong backing for this highly anticipated release.
