Two-Month-Old Infant Allegedly Killed by Parents in Quthbullapur, Probe Underway

The CSR Journal Magazine

A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Quthbullapur, located within the Dundigal Police jurisdiction in Medchal, Telangana. A two-month-old infant, referred to as Surya, has allegedly been killed by his parents, Mamata, 22, and Rajendra, 21. The couple had relocated from a village in Madhya Pradesh to Hyderabad in search of employment opportunities and were residing in the Sanarelli High Rise Apartments in Baurampet.

Allegations of Child Abuse

According to police authorities, the infant had reportedly been crying persistently for the last two days. This alleged distress may have prompted the mother to react violently. Reports indicate that Mamata suffocated the child by stuffing cloth into his mouth, restraining his limbs, and then placing him into a burning stove, which ultimately led to the tragic death of the baby. The police have initiated a case and have sent the infant’s body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Investigation and Parental Custody

The couple has been taken into custody by the Dundigal Police, who are also looking into whether Mamata was experiencing any mental health issues at the time of the incident. The investigation aims to gather more information regarding the circumstances that led to this tragic event. Both parents remain in police custody as the inquiry progresses.

Separate Traffic Incident in Hyderabad

In an unrelated incident, a motorcycle collided with a tanker on Banjara Hills Road No. 1 in Hyderabad, leading to the fatalities of two individuals: a home guard and a young woman. The Banjara Hills Police reported that Mohammad Hussain, aged 40, who served as a home guard at the Santosh Nagar Police Station, was working part-time as a Rapido driver when the crash occurred. He was transporting 20-year-old Akshita, the customer who had booked the ride, at the time of the accident.

Details of the Collision

Both Hussain and Akshita sustained critical injuries due to the impact but did not survive. They were transported to NIMS Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Authorities have opened an inquiry into the incident, and post-mortem examinations have been scheduled for the deceased. The Banjara Hills Police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the causes behind the accident, with further details anticipated as the case develops.
