Apple May Introduce iPhone Duo Max Following iPhone Duo Launch

The CSR Journal Magazine

The recent release of the iPhone Duo, priced at Rs 2,99,900, has sparked new discussions about the future of Apple’s foldable smartphone line. According to industry reports, the company is contemplating an expansion of this lineup, with a potential introduction of the iPhone Duo Max. This model is expected to feature a larger display, enhancing the device’s appeal to users seeking a bigger screen.

Additionally, there are suggestions that Apple may unveil a budget-friendly version known as the Duo SE, or a more compact design named the Duo Mini, which might incorporate a clamshell-style format. This move towards diversifying the product range indicates Apple’s strategy to capture different segments of the market.

Prominent tech journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has pointed out that the “Duo” name provides the organisation with greater flexibility for future developments. The nomenclature, contrasting with an alternative name like “Ultra,” allows Apple to create multiple variants without confusion, potentially leading to more innovative models in the future.

Features of the iPhone Duo

The iPhone Duo has generated considerable interest due to its impressive specifications. When unfolded, it boasts a 7.6-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display, capable of supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen offers features like HDR10 and Dolby Vision, alongside a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. With a Nano Texture finish and anti-reflective coating, the display aims to deliver premium visuals.

In addition to the main display, the Duo is equipped with a 5.4-inch cover display for use when the phone is folded. The device operates on Apple’s A20 Pro chipset, manufactured through a 2nm process, and is complemented by 12GB of RAM. Storage options extend up to 2TB, catering to a wide range of user needs. The device runs on the latest iOS 27 and features a six-core CPU along with a seven-core GPU.

For photography enthusiasts, the iPhone Duo comes with a dual-camera system featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. The primary camera includes phase detection autofocus and sensor-shift optical image stabilisation. Both cameras support video recording at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, bolstering the device’s appeal for high-quality content creation.

Pricing and Availability

As for pricing, the iPhone Duo starts at Rs 2,99,900 for the 256GB version in India. The cost rises to Rs 3,24,900 for the 512GB model, and the 1TB variant is priced at Rs 3,74,900. The top-tier 2TB model is available for a significant Rs 4,49,900, making it one of the more premium offerings in the current smartphone market.

In terms of battery performance, the device is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, featuring support for both wired and wireless charging. It can achieve up to 50 per cent charge in approximately 20 minutes via wired charging. The iPhone Duo also supports 25W wireless charging through MagSafe and Qi2 technology, allowing for a similar charging speed.

With the potential introduction of additional models such as the Duo Max or Duo SE, Apple seems poised to expand its footprint in the foldable smartphone segment, catering to a wider range of consumer preferences and budgets in the coming years.
