Sumukhi Suresh to Represent India at Netflix Is a Joke Fest as Sole Comic

Sumukhi Suresh, an acclaimed Indian comedian, writer, and actor, has been officially included in the lineup for the Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026. She will be the only comedian representing India in this global comedy festival. Scheduled to be held in Los Angeles from May 4 to May 10, the festival is known for being one of the largest gatherings dedicated to comedy worldwide.

This year’s edition, produced in partnership with Live Nation, will feature over 350 live performances that include stand-up shows, variety acts, podcast tapings, movie screenings, and various exclusive events spread across multiple venues throughout the city.

Significant Milestone in Suresh’s Career

On May 5, Suresh will perform in Los Angeles, marking a noteworthy achievement in her international career. She expressed her excitement about being part of the festival, reflecting on her past when she could hardly envision such an opportunity. “If you had asked a teenage Sumukhi from Nagpur, who was shy and lacked confidence, if she would perform at one of the most prestigious international comedy festivals, she wouldn’t have believed it,” Suresh shared.

She described this moment as a “milestone” and a “core memory,” highlighting the thrill of seeing her name listed among other talented performers at the festival. “I can’t wait to bring my Indian multilingual madness in a stand-up bit for the audience in LA,” she added.

A Diverse Lineup of Performers

The 2026 edition of the festival will also feature a variety of international comedians, including Zainab Johnson, Molly Kearny, Liza Treyger, Aurie Styla, Michael Longfellow, Chris Redd, and filmmaker-comedian Kevin Smith. The lineup represents a diverse array of talents from the global comedy scene.
