How low can you stoop? Shikhar Dhawan responds after Shahid Afridi makes Insulting Remarks about Indian Army

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has made insulting remarks about the Indian Army, blaming their security lapse behind the deadly terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, in which the lives of 26 civilians were claimed last week. Referring to the Indian Army, Afridi used terms like “nalayak” and “nikamme”(inefficient and useless).

Speaking to Pakistani news channel Samaa TV, the former Pak cricket skipper said hinting at India: “Patakha phat jaata hai wahaan par, Pakistan ne kiya (Even if a firecracker bursts there, they will blame it on Pakistan).”

“Tum logon ki 8 lakh hi fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an Army of 8 lakh soldiers in Kashmir and still this happened. This means you are inefficient and useless if you can’t provide security to your people).”

How low can you stoop? Shikhar Dhawan responds to Afridi

Responding to Shahid Afridi’s insulting remarks at the Indian Army, Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan asked him “aur kitna giroge” (How low can you stoop?).

“Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao @SAfridiOfficial. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!” Dhawan posted on X.

This translates to “We defeated you in Kargil as well, you guys have already stooped so low, how further can you stoop? Instead of passing comments, try to improve the condition of your own country. We are proud of our Indian Army. Hail Mother India!)

Afridi’s jibe at Indian media covering Pahalgam terror attack

Afridi also took at dig at the way Indian media covered the incident, saying, “Hairat hoti hai ki hamle ke ek ghante ke baad hi unka media Bollywood ban gaya. Khuda ke liye har kuch ko Bollywood mat banao (It’s surprising that within an hour of the attack, their media turned into Bollywood. For God’s sake, don’t make everything Bollywood).”

“Main hairaan ho gaya, balki main enjoy kar raha tha jis tarah ki woh baatein kar rahe they (I was astonished, in fact, I was enjoying the way they were talking).”

“Main keh raha tha dekho inki soch, yeh apne aap ko padhe likhe log kehte hain (I was saying, look at their thinking, and they call themselves educated people).”

Afridi lashes out at Indian cricketers

Without taking names, Afridi has also lashed out at Indian cricketers for blaming Pakistan for the terror attack. “Do cricketers jo India se itni cricket khele hue hain. Ambassadors reh chuke hain, top cricketers reh chuke hain unki taraf se direct Pakistan (There are two cricketers who have played so much cricket for India. They have been ambassadors and top cricketers, yet they directly blame Pakistan).”

What happened in Pahalgam?

Shahid Afridi’s remarks come barely a week after 26 Indians lost their lives in a ghastly terror attack in Kashmir which was carried out by a Pakistan-based terror outfit.

On last Tuesday, terrorists carried out one of the deadliest attacks in Kashmir’s at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam where a group of terrorists opened fire on civilians after enquiring about their religion and asking them to recite the ‘Kalma’, killing at least 26 people and injuring several others.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a wing of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, claimed responsibility for the attack which has drawn strong condemnation from across the world.

Retaliatory measures taken by Govt of India after Pahalgam attack

The Government of India has taken a series of retaliatory measures in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. The Indus Water Treaty has been indefinitely put on hold, the Attari border shut and visas of all Pakistan nationals in India have been revoked.
