Search for Missing Boy’s Remains Intensifies in Rajasthan, Believed to Be Murdered by Relatives

The CSR Journal Magazine

Police in Rajasthan’s Dausa district are investigating a case that has taken a tragic turn, as they now believe that a four-year-old boy named Prince, who went missing in April 2020, was allegedly murdered by his uncle and aunt. The police suspect that the crime occurred on the same day he vanished. Authorities have begun an excavation near the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, where they believe the child’s body may have been buried.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused, Anil, the boy’s paternal uncle, and Krishna, his aunt, lived in close proximity to the family for six years following Prince’s disappearance. They participated in search efforts to locate the child, which delayed suspicions against them. Investigators indicate that Prince’s remains may have been concealed for approximately two days after the alleged murder before being buried under soil at a construction site, away from public scrutiny.

The excavation was initiated based on information obtained from the suspects and has been ongoing for two days. Heavy equipment, including JCB excavators, is currently being utilized to search the area where the body is believed to be located. Authorities are also employing advanced 3D mapping technology to aid in pinpointing the suspected burial site. Coordination with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been established, as further digging may need to occur beneath the highway embankment.

Despite extensive searching efforts, the boy’s remains have not yet been found. The case has garnered significant attention in the region, raising questions about the family’s dynamics and the series of events leading to the child’s disappearance. Prince’s father, Jagmohan, who has been residing in Dubai, returned to India upon learning about the excavation efforts. He stated that the family had invested nearly Rs 10 lakh in searches across multiple states, driven by hope that Prince would return.

Jagmohan expressed his immense grief, emphasizing a desire for closure and justice rather than financial concerns over the extensive search efforts. The tragedy of Prince’s suspected murder, coupled with the prolonged period of uncertainty for his family, has left a profound impact on the community. The investigation continues as police work diligently to uncover the truth surrounding this distressing case.
