The CSR Journal Magazine

A white sedan left unattended on Jessore Road triggered a massive security scare on Wednesday, drawing elite forces including the National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to Duttapukur.

The vehicle, bearing registration number WB26BO1786, had been parked near a local police outpost since the afternoon of Dashami. Concerned residents, noticing the unclaimed car lingering on the roadside, alerted local authorities, who quickly cordoned off a 100-meter radius around the site.

Joint Security Operation and Findings

Senior officials from the Barasat District Police, central armed forces, and a bomb squad rushed to the scene. Due to the presence of an unidentified liquid chemical substance inside the car, NSG commandos were called in to inspect the vehicle.

A thorough joint search conducted by the West Bengal Special Task Force (STF), NIA, and NSG ultimately confirmed that the car did not contain any powerful or operational explosives.

Midnight Raids and Detainment

Following the vehicle inspection, law enforcement expanded their probe to the residence of a local resident, Rakibul Islam. A team of investigators searched the property from 11:00 PM Wednesday until 2:00 AM Thursday.

Describing the late-night raid, Rakibul’s uncle, Amin Ali, stated: “Last night, I suddenly noticed a vehicle from the Duttapukur Police Station in our lane. When I asked why the police had arrived, the driver could not provide an answer; however, an officer approached and asked which house belonged to Rakibul. The police then entered Rakibul’s home and conducted an investigation.”

Police have registered a formal case at the Duttapukur police station. Rakibul Islam was taken into custody and is set to be produced before the Barasat District and Sessions Judge Court.
